About Us

From a child, Michael has always had to adapt.  Born in Tokyo, Japan and constantly moving as a result of being the child of a military parent, Michael understands that life and law are fluid, constantly changing, and require the ability to adapt, learn, and change with the law.  Michael graduated magna cum laude with a double major from Morehouse College.  He then went on to attend Saint Louis University School of Law.  While in Law school, Michael served as the vice president of the Black law student association and was a faculty fellow for the distinguished Camille Nelson, a Saint Louis University criminal law professor. 

After graduation, Michael started his career in public service working as a Senior Assistant District Attorney with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.  As the senior litigator in his courtroom, Michael managed large caseloads and litigated many complex cases.  Having had many trials, Michael had a very high rate of success.    

After serving nearly ten years in the District Attorney’s Office, Michael opened the Bernard Law Group.  Still with a mindset of service, Michael handles a wide range of cases.  From personal injury to criminal law defense, Michael approaches each case with the hard nose of a prosecutor, yet the delicate touch of a negotiator.  He has handled hundreds of personal injury, premises liability, family and criminal law cases.  Any case he handles, big or small, will be handle with a high level of competency and compassion.
